Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer. The concept of "customer-focused", commercial knowledge, technology leading position and manufacturing efficiency of the company make it be among the industry forefront. The industry cooperation between Airbus and the Chinese aviation industry began in 1985. At the time, the east China bureau of the civil aviation administration of China, now known as CES(China Eastern Airlines), became the first user of Airbus in China. Then, Airbus began to cooperate with China aviation manufacturing industry on parts subcontract production cooperation.
In 2005, the value of airbus parts produced by China's aviation enterprises reached $34.5 million. In 2007, Airbus's purchases in China reached more than $70 million; in 2008, Airbus's industrial cooperation total value reached more than $100 million in China; in 2009, the value reached $140 million; and by 2010, the value will reach $200 million. A total of six domestic aviation enterprises started the cooperation of producing parts directly for airbus aircraft.
By the end of August 2010, a total of 623 airbus aircrafts has been operated in mainland China, accounting for more than 43% of market share. As for the entire supply chain, the company attaches great importance to the whole logistics supply plan on the widgets such as wings and the emergency door etc. At the same time, on considering of there being many special requirements for aviation industry, the company commissioned Fablog design team to do planning and design on its parts library. During the design process, Fablog adopted JIT implementation plan which shortened the production cycle and eliminated excess inventories so as to optimize the production of the company.
