For BYK-Chemie GmbH in Wesel Fablog realized a WMS solution for the whole central warehouse.
The software was realized on an IBM-AS/400 under OS/400. Delivery and installation of the complete RF-application including eleven forklift RF-terminals and four handheld RF-terminals was also part of the order.
The warehouse in which mainly barrels and canisters on pallets or special loading units are stored is supplied and disposed by forklifts. All inbound and outbound processes are supported with RF-functionality of the new WMS and all transactions and stock movements are online-booked. Besides the manual picking of canisters Fablog also realizes a n automatic robot-controlled picking. During the picking on a workstation of the WMS a label is printed which is attached to the canister.
With the new WMS-solution the high demands of Byk Chemie on logistics as well as their high security demand on the system as well as the software solution was taken into account. The WMS-solution supports a 24-hour-operation during six days of the week.
Currently the WMS-solution was completely integrated in a SAP/R3-environment.
